Roots was one of the first hair treatments I tried from Lush as I wanted volume in the roots of my hair and I loved the smell of this product as it was minty and fresh and if heard it felt cold of your hair when applied and massaged in so I was very intrigued.
Peppermint Oil is used in this product which is known to stimulate the scalp to help hair grow which is what I am currently trying to do with my hair; another reason I purchased this product. As well as the benefits, the scent is very apparent in this product and gives it a beautiful, refreshing scent that stays in your hair.
Extra Virgin Olive oil is also used which conditions the hair and as it contains vitamins similar to the sebum found in our bodies, it helps keep the scalp healthy and moisturised.
The addition of honey also helps moisturise the scalp and is great for sensitive skin as it is gentle on skin that is easily irritated.
To use this product I separate my hair and massage in a palm full of this product into just the roots of my hair. I will massage it in for about five minutes and leave it in throughout the majority of my bath. As I only use this product on my roots, I use Jasmine and Henna Fluff-Ease Hair Treatment on the tips of my hair. I will then wash the treatments out then shampoo the roots of my hair and condition the tips of my hair. This product washed out pretty easy and left my head feeling extremely clean, refreshed and awakened.
Personally, I use too many products on my hair to notice whether or not this product does promote hair growth but I definitely do think that when I use this product my hair feels silky soft and significantly more volumised making this product brilliant for those who have fine or limp hair.
I have currently used about half of this pot in about two months using it every other week giving me around about four or five uses. This means that hopefully, I will get around ten treatments out of this pot which works out around £1 per treatment. I personally like to use a lot of the product so it could last longer is you are a little more sparing with the product.
As this product contains honey, an animal made product, I will not be using Roots hair treatment again despite it being a brilliant product, so I would highly recommend this product who will happily use honey on themselves.
